Released digitally on November 21 2025.<h2 class="ql-align-center"> BIO</h2>In 2025, songwriter and music producer Andreas Söderlund released the album Life of Jónny.The project is inspired by stories from his grandmother, who as a young girl fled from Narvik in northern Norway to Sweden during World War II, when the Germans occupied and bombed the country. In Andreas’s imagination, her life story merged with the drama of the war and grew into a new narrative – an inner tale that has stayed with him through the years and now taken musical form.Over the past years, Söderlund has worked as a producer and songwriter for artists such as Annika Norlin/Hello Saferide, Janice, Jackie Mere, Elias and Innocent. His own career began in 2003 with the critically acclaimed bands Niccokick and Sounds Like Violence.Life of Jónny carries clear traces of Söderlund’s musical language, with piano, synths and guitars at the core. Yet it is more instrumental than his previous work, infused with influences from classical music, opera and jazz. The music is dramatic, atmospheric and emotionally charged – drawing inspiration from contemporary composers and artists such as Danny Elfman, Flaming Lips, Steve Reich, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Brian Eno, Arvo Pärt and Sigur Rós. Featured vocalists include Linnea Håkansson (Innocent), Elias Sahlin, opera singer Johanna Ericsson, and Söderlund himself.The visual dimension has been just as important as the composition itself. Together with artist, illustrator and animator Ulf Lundén, the story of Jónny has been given a visual interpretation. Inspired by Hayao Miyazaki and Per Åhlin, Lundén has created a series of illustrations and short animations – loop-based sequences released chapter by chapter on Instagram in sync with the music. Together they form a musical saga with moving images, where each song title mirrors a step in the story and follows Jónny’s journey through a landscape of war, escape, love and sacrifice.The first chapter will be released on October 3, followed by a new one each week on Andreas’s Instagram – where music and animation together tell the story of Jónny.
